Family policies
Photos of your child
We ask your written permission before we share any photo of your child, on this site, in newsletters or on social media, and you can change your answer at any time. We never put a child's name with a photo, and the photos on this site are examples until we replace them with our own.
Do I need a partner?
No. Every adult class rotates partners, so you never need your own, and singles and couples dance side by side. We pair no one who would rather not.
Watching class and recitals
Partners, family and friends may watch the last ten minutes of any adult class, and guests are welcome at the first-Friday social. For the teen class and the children's group, a parent may wait in the waiting area, and we invite parents in to watch at the end of each month. At the spring showcase guests need a ticket, and may film their own dancer.
What to wear and bring
Wear what you can move in. Shoes with a smooth sole and a closed heel work well, and socks are fine for the first weeks. Ballroom shoes can wait until you know you are staying. Teens and children wear practice clothes, with hair off the face and no jewelry that could catch a partner.
Absences and late arrival
Message us if you will miss a class. Late arrivals join after the warm-up; if you are more than twenty minutes late, we will ask you to watch the rest and join the next class.
Drop-off and pickup
Parents of teens and children bring them inside and collect them from the main floor at the end of class. We hand each dancer to an adult named on the registration page, and we ask for ID from anyone we do not know. A parent may give written permission for a teen of 16 or older to leave on their own.
Closures for weather and holidays
We close for the holidays in December, on Thanksgiving and when roads are unsafe. We message everyone by text and email the same morning, and we post it on our social page.
Screens and phones
Phones stay in a pocket or a bag while the music is on. Now and then we film a short clip to show a step. We do it with the dancers' agreement, and never of a teen or a child without a parent's permission.
