How tuition works

What sets tuition, what the extras are for and where to find the figures.

  • What sets tuition

Tuition depends on how many classes a week you take, how long each class is, and whether you join as an adult, a teen or in the children's group. A membership, a class card and wedding party lessons are set differently. Current figures are on our registration page, and we will go through them with you at a first class or by phone.

    • Classes a week

    • Class length

    • Adult, teen or children's group

    • Membership, class card or wedding lessons

  • Registration

A yearly registration covers your file at the studio, the studio's insurance and your place on our enrollment page. It is due when you sign up for your first class.

  • Billing

A membership is billed monthly by autopay. A class card and wedding party lessons are paid once, when you start. Pay on our enrollment page, at the front desk or by phone.

  • Couples and families

Two people who join together, or more than one dancer in a family, are handled differently from the first. Tell us when you register and we will explain how.

  • Missed classes and make-ups

A missed class can be made up in another class of the same dance, or the level just below, within the same session. Message us the day before if you can, and book it with the front desk.

  • Uniforms, costumes and other costs

Beyond tuition there are a few costs, and each has a purpose: ballroom shoes, when you decide you are staying; an outfit for the spring showcase, if you take part; tickets for guests to the showcase and the first-Friday social; and entry to an outside dance event, with travel, only if you choose to go. We run no competition team.

    • Ballroom shoes, after the first weeks

    • A showcase outfit of your choosing

    • Guest tickets for the showcase and the social

    • Outside events and travel, only if you choose to go

  • Withdrawing

We ask for two weeks' notice before you stop a membership, so the place can go to someone on the waitlist. A showcase outfit that has already been ordered is still billed.
